If there is one thing that needs improvement at Georgia Gwinnett College, it would have to be the tutor lab.  In order to find out how Georgia Gwinnett College students feel about the tutor lab, I created a survey on Wufoo, entitled GGC Tutor Lab.  The survey was open to the public but intended specifically for GGC students.  I was interested in finding out if any students have some of the same feelings, about the tutor lab, that I do.  To take my survey click here. To see the survey results as of September 23, 2009, please click on the Excel document below.

As of September 23, 2009, seven people have taken the survey.  Only five people were students at GGC.  Three sophomores and three juniors took the survey; only one senior and no freshman took the survey.  Interestingly, four science majors took the survey, and they were the only ones who said they did use the tutor lab.  One student, not from GGC, was an IT major and did not know the tutor lab existed.  The last two survey takers, a nursing major and an undetermined major, knew about the tutor lab and chose not to use it.  According to the survey results, the morning hours are most used for tutoring.  Two people specifically chose morning, one person said all times, and the fourth and final person wrote afternoons.  Three of the four people who use the tutor lab agreed that they sometimes find themselves waiting around for a tutor that specializes in a certain subject.  The same three people said prior to 10:00am, the tutor lab is full of math, "only math" tutors.  One single in has no issues with getting help in the tutor lab, surprisingly, as mentioned above, they are a science major; I would have thought they were a math major.  Of the remaining three people, two, whom are not students at GGC, did not know about the tutor lab and have no input on what types of tutors are helping out before 10:00am.  The last person did not have anything to say about tutors before 10:00am, even though they said they said they did not use the tutor lab, they still felt the tutors are so well rounded they can help with any subject.

I found the results to be both interesting and surprisingly similar between the four science majors and between the two non GGC students.
